This is an imprecise memory, so please read this as such.
My grandmother, Isobel Gair Milne (she preferred that name to Isabella) told me about meeting her grandmother. My memories (imprecise as they are) are that she found Rebecca to be (bad-tempered - or not very nice!!) and quite scary. By this time, Rebecca would have been aged approx 80. I believe she had also lost her sight at this point.
It's worth recording, but is very much a snapshot of what an older lady remembered as a young girl of her aged grandmother - and I may have embellished the memory in the re-telling! I wish I'd written it down at the time! 46
