Clyde was brought up by James & Mary Ann Pitt, of Pontnewynydd.

On seeing a photo of Alexandra Louisa Watson, she said that Alexandra's husband was the preacher of Mount Zion Chapel - that he often used to come for lunch with James & Mary Ann - living away from the church - is this right ? - Clyde seemed a little unsure who Alexandra was and may have mistaken her for someone else. ¹

Alexandra married Benjamin Jenkins, son of Philip Jenkins and Ann Stevens, on 10 Oct 1896 in St. Pauls, Aston, Warwickshire.⁴ (Benjamin Jenkins was born on 17 Dec 1855 in Abersychan, Trevethin, Monmouthshire,¹⁷ died on 13 Aug 1926 ¹³ and was buried on 18 Aug 1926 in Trevethin Parish Church, Pontypool, Monmouthshire ¹⁴.)
